IronCrotch Ride

Sunday, April 27, 2008 I did the Iron Crotch bike ride with KW and her friend V.  After Friday and Saturday I was not sure about doing this ride, it had been raining and snowing the last couple days.  Saturday was really nasty and windy.  The only thing to do on a day like that was to eat pizza, drink beer and enjoy the company of friends and that is exactly what I did.

As I was saying...

Sunday I met KW and V at the Houlton Elementary School in Wisconsin. It was a really chilly willy morning but no rain or snow in sight so I was feeling good about the ride.  Heard some grumbling from the people parked next to me but they seemed happy to be doing the ride as well.  I don't know what time we started the ride, I'm not that good with the details, my fingers were pretty cold for about the first five miles but after the first hill I was warmed up and ready to ride.  The halfway point was Osceola, WI where we stopped for refreshments and a little break.  We had a nice long ass climb to get out of Osceola but by the time we hit Summerset it leveled off.  We encountered some headwinds but they did not last long, it's just that by the time we hit them my legs were tired so it was slow going for me. I think it was about 12:30 when we finished.

After the ride we went to KW's house for some nice delicious soup and a cold frosty beverage. I really enjoyed this ride and hope to do it again.  I kept the map so maybe I can get out there again this year and follow the same route, I think it will be gorgeous in the Fall.

That's all folks...

GOTCHA

Think of a letter between A and W
Repeat it out loud as you scroll down

Keep going...
Don't stop...

Think of an animal that begins with that letter.

Repeat it out loud as you scroll down.

Think of either a man's name or a woman's name that begins with the last letter of the animals name.

Almost there...

Now count out the letters in that name with the fingers on the hand you are not  using to scroll down.

Take the hand that you FIRST counted with and hold it out in front of you at face level.

Look at your palm very closely and notice the lines in your hand...

Do the lines take the form of the FIRST letter in the persons name?

Of course not....

Now TAKE THAT HAND and SMACK YOURSELF IN THE HEAD, get a life, and quit playing stupid games.

GOTCHA!

Ok, so it doesn't take much to entertain me ;)

My new bike

March 28, I picked up my new mountain bike today a Trek EX8. I took it for a quick ride before I had to head off to curling.  I cannot wait to get it out on the trails.  I went with the less expensive bike, not that this one did not cost enough, but R and R set in as I was driving to the bike shop; reality and responsibility.

It took me about three months to decide which bike I wanted and then when I went to actually check it out and take it out for a ride the bike I wanted was just too big for me.  I really wanted the Gary Fisher 29er but I am only 5' 4" at best and don't have the legs for 29 inch wheels.  So then I had to decide between the Trek EX 8 and the EX 9, this is where the R and R kicked in.  I have no business getting an EX 9, I am not that kind of a rider.  The EX 8 is just fine for me and my abilities.   I am very happy with my purchase! :)
